Letter supplements information shared at environmental commission meeting spacer

JERSEY CITY, N.J., June 7, 2019 – Site Administrator Ron Riccio appeared before the Jersey City Environmental Commission on April 16, 2019 to discuss, among other things, the status of remediation efforts at the PPG chromium sites. Following the Commission meeting, on May 30, 2019, Mr. Riccio submitted a letter to the Commission to provide additional information on a variety of topics and questions raised by the public and the Commission during his presentation.

Four principal topics are discussed in the letter: (1) the status of the blood monitoring study, (2) the status of the residential inspection program and concerns raised about eminent domain/condemnation, (3) whether post-remediation conditions could present a risk to residential uses at the PPG chromium sites, and (4) the measures that will be taken to assure the public that the PPG chromium sites will be monitored in the future to prevent environmental and public health risks.
